Secure Shredding and Data Destruction Services for Healthcare

Hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, care providers and healthcare administration teams handle highly sensitive paperwork every day.

Patient notes, care plans, appointment lists, prescription records, test results, referral letters, HR files and billing documents all need careful handling from creation through to secure disposal.

When these documents reach the end of their retention period, they should not be placed in general recycling, office waste or unsecured storage. They need to be destroyed through a secure, traceable process.

Pulp provides secure on site shredding and data destruction services for healthcare organisations across the Republic of Ireland. We help hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, care providers and administration teams clear confidential paper, archive records and data bearing media in a controlled, documented and GDPR aligned way.

Secure Shredding for Patient, Staff and Clinic Records

Patient files, clinic lists, prescription records, billing documents and staff paperwork can contain personal data, health information, appointment details, medication details and confidential correspondence. A misplaced patient file, prescription record or clinic list can create compliance risk and damage trust.

Our on site shredding service helps your team keep sensitive paperwork under control until the point of destruction. Documents are collected securely and shredded at your premises, with service documentation provided once the job is complete.

What We Shred for Care Settings and Clinics

Paperwork can build up across reception areas, wards, clinic rooms, pharmacies, administration offices, records rooms, HR departments, finance teams and storage areas. Pulp can provide locked consoles for regular use, secure bins for larger volumes, or a one off collection for archive clear outs.

How the Service Works

Step 1: Book Your Service

Tell us what needs to be destroyed, where it is located and whether you need a regular service or a one off clear out. We can help you choose the most suitable option based on your document volume, site setup and internal security requirements.

Step 2: Store Documents Securely

For regular collections, we can provide locked consoles for confidential paper disposal. These give staff a simple and secure place to put end of life documents during normal work.

For larger clear outs, we can arrange secure bins or collection containers for archive boxes, records rooms, storage areas or administration offices.

Step 3: On Site Shredding

Our team arrives at your premises and completes the shredding on site. Witnessed shredding is available, giving your team direct visibility over the destruction process where required.

Step 4: Certificate of Destruction

Once the shredding is complete, we issue a Certificate of Destruction confirming the service has been carried out.

Service Options for Healthcare Organisations

Regular Scheduled Shredding

A scheduled shredding service is useful for hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and care providers that generate confidential paperwork every week. Locked consoles can be placed in agreed areas such as reception offices, administration areas, clinic rooms, pharmacy areas, HR departments, finance teams or records offices.

This gives staff a secure disposal point and reduces the chance of sensitive documents being placed into normal waste or left in unsecured areas.

One Off Archive Clear Outs

Records rooms, storage areas and administration offices can hold years of old patient files, clinic paperwork, HR records, finance documents and correspondence. When documents have reached the end of their retention period, Pulp can provide a secure one off shredding service to remove and destroy large volumes of paper safely.

This is useful during records reviews, clinic moves, storage clear outs, audits, refurbishments or administration reorganisations.

Hard Drive and Media Destruction

Sensitive data is not always held on paper. Decommissioned laptops, hard drives, storage media, scanners, office devices and other equipment may still contain confidential information.

Pulp also provides secure data destruction for data bearing media, helping organisations manage old devices with the same focus on security and traceability.

Secure IT destruction

Compliance Support for Patient and Care Records

Healthcare organisations handle personal data and health information across many areas, from patient care and appointments to prescriptions, referrals, billing, HR, payroll and supplier management. Once records are no longer required, disposal should be secure, controlled and documented.

Our process supports this with secure handling, on site destruction and a Certificate of Destruction, helping your organisation keep a clear record of how confidential documents were destroyed.

What Happens After Shredding?

Once your paper has been shredded, the material enters the recycling stream. It can then be used in the production of new paper based products such as tissue, card and other paper goods.

This allows your organisation to dispose of confidential documents securely while also supporting responsible paper recycling.
